FFA members even in uncertain and difficult times. We are making difference. Last year, in the midst of a pandemic, 169 chapters donated a total of 733 animals as well as $4,477.00 dollars through the Cents Make Sense Program. This produced over 1 Million protein sticks for Oklahomans that struggle with hunger.
How your chapter can participate:
- Donate an Animal – You can donate an animal at the Tulsa State Fair or the Oklahoma Youth Expo. You must bring your animal to the expo, register with the Regional Food Bank for your tax deductible receipt, and then walk the animal to designated area for donation.
- Cents Makes Sense – Let everyone in your community know that your chapter is adding 25 cents to each fundraising product sold to support the Backpacks for Hungry Kids program. For example, add 25 cents to each package of sausage sold. The extra 25 cents will be collected and sent as one check to Amanda Rosholt, Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation, 2501 N Stiles, Oklahoma City, OK73105. 100% of the proceeds from your animal or cash donation will be used to produce the nutritious meat sticks that are so vitally important to the backpacks that hungry Oklahoma kids take home to sustain them over the weekends.
Every chapter participating between Aug. 1, 2020, and April 1, 2021, will be recognized during the 2021 State FFA Convention.
