Profile:
Hello, Oklahoma FFA! My name is Caleb Ames, and I am honored to serve as your 2024-2025 Southwest Area vice president.

I am from Duke, a small town where agriculture wasn’t a big part of my family’s life. But everything changed in sixth grade when I helped a friend with a swine operation, and I was hooked. That passion led me straight to the FFA. I eagerly counted down the days till I finally got to wear my first ever blue corduroy jacket in eighth grade, when I was shocked to find out that FFA was so much more than what I thought.

During my FFA journey, I dove into a bunch of different things like prepared public speaking, extemporaneous speaking, opening and closing ceremonies, livestock judging, ag communications and quizbowl. On top of that, my Supervised Agricultural Experience covered landscape management entrepreneurship and swine production entrepreneurship. Each one of these experiences taught me invaluable lessons and skills that I know will stick with me for life. My advice? Dive into as many FFA events as you can until you find your groove no matter what that might be. One of the best parts of FFA is the friendships you build. So don’t be shy at events. Step out of your comfort zone and meet as many people as possible. Trust me, it is totally worth it. FFA has had a huge impact on who I am today, and I am forever thankful for the chance to give back to this amazing organization. I hope I can make even a fraction of the impact on others that FFA has made on me.

This next year I will attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in agricultural communications. I am so excited to serve each and everyone of you this year. Dream big and always remember, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest impact.
