Letter to the Members:
Hello, Oklahoma FFA! My name is Titus Montgomery, and I am very blessed to serve as your Southeast Area vice president.

I grew up in the small town of Red Oak, Oklahoma, with my siblings, Grace and Cy, and my parents, Johnny and Leigh Montgomery. My ag teachers were Mr. Walker and Mr. Walker, a father-son duo whom I have known all my life. I joined FFA my eighth grade year, and little did I realize that getting into the passenger seat of the ag truck would lead me to where I am today. My SAE program during high school was very diverse, containing projects relating to agriscience research, lawn care and even agronomy exhibits like grass bundles at the Tulsa State Fair, just to name a few. However, my primary areas were in agricultural communications and beef production entrepreneurship. I am the host of my own radio broadcast, “The Southeast Oklahoma Ag Report” and the “Brag On Ag” podcast which I use to agvocate for agriculture and the FFA. I also own a crossbred cow/calf operation of 14 head that I have run since my freshman year.

As for my reason for joining and staying involved within the FFA, it all stems back to my first ever COLT Conference as an eighth grader. My older sister was one of our chapter officers at the time, but she got sick the day before, and so Mr. Walker called me and asked if I wanted to go. I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but after some state officers and other older FFA members treated me like a celebrity, I knew I had found my home in the FFA.

As I look back on my high school FFA career, there are so many memories that I could share. From giving the FFA Creed for the first time to attending my first MFE, going to Alumni Camp and even going to WLC, all of these memories hold a special place in my heart. However, by far my favorite memories come from riding in the passenger seat of the ag truck with Mr. Walker. Whether it was jamming out to rock ’n’ roll or red dirt, talking about show pigs or listening to some of the best advice that I could ask for, I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. I cannot wait to continue to make memories and serve you all.
